Let the Swim Season Begin!
Dear Swim Team Families,
I pray this message finds all of you and your families happy and healthy! We are super excited to have a fun season this year with meets built into our schedule (YAHOO!!!!!). As it stands, we will ALL be having practice at our Sports Park pool, 9900 Mustang Gate, unless our numbers grow drastically this week. We will keep you posted on this!
Our goal is to give your swimmers a comprehensive program beginning on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. If you have new swimmers to our team that are ten and under, they will need to come to the Sports Park pool on Monday night, May 3rd, for an assessment anytime between 5-6 PM. Our coaches will evaluate them. Please do not worry if your kiddos are not quite there yet. This is really to test them on their safety in the water and what they already know so they can be placed into the correct group. Also, please know that the water is extremely COLD after all the rain last week and it will make it more difficult for your swimmer. We will definitely be taking that into account during the tryout session!
Our swimmers will be swimming at the Sports Park pool during the following times:
- Eight year olds and younger will swim from 5 PM to 5:45 PM
- 9 and 10 year olds will swim from 5:50 PM to 6:40 PM
- 11 to 18 year olds will swim from 6:45 PM to 7:30 PM
Practice will be Tuesday through Friday evenings until school gets out and we transfer to morning practice the first full week of summer (an email will come mid-May with that schedule). Our goal is to have your swimmers there as many of the four practices per week as possible AND we know everyone has a busy schedule so do not worry if you are not able to get them there 100% of the time!
Notes/Policies/Guidelines We want things to be fun, but the goal is safety first! Below is a glance at some of our policies. These are not all inclusive and more will be provided if we see a need for more.
Treated pool water can kill the COVID19 virus. However, this does not mean a person is 100% safe coming in contact with people in and around the pool. It just means that the body of pool water is safe for swimmers to swim and play.
Social distancing guidelines must be always followed.
Swimmers must come dressed and ready to swim for each practice. Changing will not be allowed at the pool.
Swimmers will only be allowed in the pool area during their session. They will sign in through the front gate and exit at the end of practice through the side gate.
Bathrooms will be closed during all sessions, except to coaches as they would be on deck for all sessions and will not have time to clean the bathroom for themselves in between uses. If an emergency occurs, you will need to clean the area before and after.
Each session will have limited number of swimmers and there will be designated areas for each swimmer to set his/her gear.
The session will be limited to swimmers and coaches/staff only.
The baby pool will be closed during ALL sessions.
Swimmers who are sick
and/or exhibiting any symptoms of the coronavirus should not come to swim practice.
Thank you in advance for giving us the opportunity to teach your swimmers this season. We are working to create a program that promotes healthy activity despite this global situation and with your help we will have successful season!
With joy,
Kim Terrill
